Rick began his hearth industry career as a chimney sweep back in June of
1980. He Installed his first woodstove in 1983 and in the summer of 1988 he joined the North Carolina Chimney Sweep Association. Shortly thereafter he became a certified member. He has also been certified by the National Chimney Sweep Guild and the Chimney Safety Institute.
Gail was born in North Carolina and has lived there all her life. Gail and Rick married in 1974 they have one son Tyler. She has been in
retail sales for over 25 years. Gail runs the store while Rick, Tyler and Daniel (another employee) do the installations. Gail loves gardening and playing with her 2-year-old
granddaughter who is the "apple" of her eye.
Rick and Gail purchased their shop in April of 2003 and renamed it the
Fireplace. Prior to buying the shop, Rick did installations for the
previous owner.
